In a landscape where return on investment is ever more important, www.developtraining.co.uk has come one the first ever commercial training providers in the UK to demonstrate its training adds real tangible value.

Develop has just been awarded with the new standard for Training Excellence following a final intensive two-day assessment and after many months of preparation. This accolade is only awarded to training organisations that deliver market leading training to employers and their employees.

Training Excellence is an independent scheme run by research and consulting specialists in education, employment and skills, CFE. Training Excellence recognises organisations that are committed to delivering the highest quality training and to achieving a measurable impact against customers' business needs.

Rod Tompsett, Executive Chairman at Develop commented "The major difference between this award and other standards is that this is focused on the impact the training makes to a customer, not purely on delegates. It sets a new standard for training and is an achievement we are delighted to have attained. Measuring the impact of training is essential. In this climate, with increasing competitive pressure and demand for results, employers understandably have growing expectations of their investment in training."

Through assessment, Training Excellence helps training providers understand their ability to respond to, and impact on, employer customers' business needs. It also helps training organisations identify their strengths and highlight the critical issues that they need to tackle to become high innovation, high impact providers of training. Organisations that score highly enough become Recognised Training Excellence Organisations, and are able to carry the TX stamp for two years.

Andy Currie, Training Excellence Programme Manager at CFE, said: "All of Develop's staff should be extremely proud of their achievement. Our Assessors commented that Develop is an extremely impressive organisation, and through their assessment clearly demonstrated their excellence in responding to the training needs of employers. We're extremely pleased that Develop Training will be proudly displaying the Training Excellence stamp."

As part of the assessment process CFE assessors interrogated the processes that underpins Develop's training delivered and customers' feedback about the impact this has had on their business.

Through 350 Training Quality Standard assessments of training providers, and research into hundreds of employers' experiences of taking delivery of training solutions, CFE know that measuring impact is vitally important, and is what makes the difference in training delivery. Employers face tough questions when considering whether to invest in learning and development and particularly so in difficult economic times when all investments must be able to demonstrate a return.
