Skillweb has launched an item and parcel tracking tool designed to provide enhanced visibility and control for SME couriers and carriers. SmartTask Mobile Delivery will provide an affordable, easily configurable, hosted solution that possesses the software and mobile computing capabilities only previously available to large-scale mail, parcel and supply chain operations.

SmartTask Mobile Delivery will utilise the same technology as Skillweb's award winning Houndit Enterprise solution to provide full traceability and management control over all aspects of the item and parcel lifecycle including fulfilment, delivery, notification, POD and returns. It will not only optimise supply chain processes and operational workflow using advanced tracking, but also provides access to meaningful business intelligence via a sophisticated reporting package to help make informed management decisions.

SmartTask Mobile Delivery will feature all the essential tools required to plan, track, trace and report for each and every item or parcel within an operator's supply chain. This will enable items to be tracked from assigning a courier or delivery operative's workload to the end signature capture, whilst including multiple features to support the practical reality and key challenges of a delivery business.

Items can be easily found at every stage using the system with full onscreen tracking history and an interface for third-party web proof of delivery will enable end customers to access important status information about their order. Meanwhile, daily and scheduled reporting is available for all areas of the delivery operation to monitor key performance data.
