The innovative reverse logistics tool has been developed as part of the company's Houndit Enterprise item tracking solution to provide full traceability of all collected items throughout the returns process.

The Houndit Returns module will integrate seamlessly with Houndit Enterprise to allow couriers and parcel delivery drivers to make unscheduled collections during their delivery rounds from consumers wanting to return unwanted purchases. They will be able to scan associated documentation to capture the required tracking data using the simple-to-use and intuitive tool via their handheld computers.

Paul Ridden, Managing Director of Skillweb said: "Consumers are increasingly looking for a convenient way of returning their purchases, so there is an opportunity for retailers and their delivery partners to gain competitive advantage by developing an effective reverse logistics solution. Working with operators within the post and parcel sector we are committed to creating effective tracking solutions to support the returns process and meet the changing needs of their customers. Houndit Returns is currently being rolled out to a number of Skillweb's key customers and is receiving positive feedback."

"The modular and scalable functionality of Houndit means our customers can benefit from tailored solutions that best support business and operational processes across all aspects of the parcel lifecycle including fulfilment, delivery, notification, POD and returns."
