Skillweb achieves record growth in supply chain sector

This 55 per cent overall increase has been underpinned by significant growth in the supply chain sector of more than 123 per cent, representing 160 million additional transactions in the past 12-months.

With many supply chain and logistics operators looking to better manage the movement of goods to reduce costs and enhance customer service, Skillweb has experienced strong growth. Houndit Enterpise, Skillweb's customisable tracking solution is now supporting many thousands of delivery operatives and couriers in the field, as well as several hundred depot and warehouse staff on behalf of a range of UK and international organisations.

In particular, Skillweb teamed up with BT Supply Chain to upgrade an existing transport management system that is used to distribute over 20,000 parts each day to 22,000 engineers. The enhanced system, utilising Houndit Enterprise, will replace existing distribution processes and is designed to enable the reduction of transport miles travelled by more than 30 per cent in order to minimise costs and environmental impact.

Skillweb has also achieved impressive levels of service, significantly above the industry norm of 99 to 99.5 percent, delivering average systems up time of 99.999 per cent across our customer base. This has resulted in lower support call volumes and users only contacting the company's help desk on average less than once every three years.
