Within his new role, James will be tasked with driving the company’s IT and Transformation strategy, which will include an upgrade of the existing technology across the business. He will also oversee the development of innovative technologies that are designed to further enhance the service ArrowXL provides to online consumers. He will look to build on the company’s successful track record of developing innovative technology designed to enrich the consumer journey, such as the award-winning AskAxl web application.
During an impressive career spanning almost 20 years, James has led several major transformation projects and boasts a strong background in competitive, regulated industries. He has previously held CIO roles at Northern Rail, Abellio Transport Holdings, Northumbrian Water Group and most recently Drax Group.
Paul has been confirmed as ArrowXL’s permanent CFO after fulfilling the role on an interim basis since August. As part of his remit, he will retain accountability for all financial and legal matters associated with the business. Paul is highly skilled in executive board and stakeholder strategy, maintaining corporate governance and business integrity.
He previously held the role of Finance Director at Ricardo Hitec and TDG – Williams Distribution. He later moved to Bibby Distribution and over a period of 20-years he transitioned from Finance Director to CFO for the Bibby Supply Chain Services group of companies.
Charlie Shiels, CEO at ArrowXL, said: “We are very excited to have filled these two important board-level roles with such high calibre individuals. Both James and Paul have a wealth of knowledge and experience that will hugely benefit our business.”
James Robbins said: “I have been impressed by ArrowXL’s vision for the future and how technology and innovation will play a fundamental role in shaping that. This is a fantastic time to join the company and the entire organisation is dedicated to growing the business even further.”
Paul Cullingford concluded: “With constant investment in its transport network and infrastructure, including plans to rebuild the hub in Worcester, this is an exciting period in ArrowXL’s history. I look forward to playing a key role in the company’s future success.”
