The rugged Vaavud wind meter turns your smartphone into a high-tech meteorological tool.  Works with iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and Samsung Galaxy S2, S3, S4

The design is based on a professional cup anemometer and is truly pocket friendly with its unique two cup design. The Vaavud wind meter has a one piece durable plastic rotor and low friction teflon bearing. The wind meter uses a revolutionary electronic free method of communicating directly to the magnetic field sensor in your smartphone.

The app measures windspeed in most common units of measure. The app interface has a neat and clean interface that shows the most important wind characteristics: actual, mean and max wind speed. The smooth graph gives additional information about the variations in strength and gives a quick overview. The Graph supports both drag and pinch to zoom so see all the details.

The Vaavud device has a wind range of 2 m/s up to 25 m/s. Precision is the least of +- 4% or 0.2 m/s. The wind meter has been tested and calibrated in a professional wind tunnel at the Technical University of Denmark. The cup anemometer design make it much less sensitive to the way you point the wind meter.
