TALL Security Print, a leader in secure print and electronic payment services, celebrated its 25th year of operation. Business leaders and dignitaries came together at the company’s site in Runcorn to recognise the achievements of TALL Security Print since its creation in 1991.

A Member of the TALL Group, TALL Security Print Ltd holds a unique position as a trusted partner for the security print & secure payment solutions it provides. TALL supply UK’s major banks, blue-chip companies, retailers and print management companies.

To mark the occasion Mr David Briggs MBE, KstJ, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, who attended the event as the guest of honour, unveiled a new Long Service Award board for the Runcorn site. Other guests included business leaders from several major banks, paper suppliers and representatives of local business groups as well as a number of employees and their families.

"25 years of delivering quality service and innovative yet secure print solutions for the financial marketplace and major corporates is a significant milestone that was made possible only by the dedication of our employees, our partners and our commitment to excellence in customer service," said Martin Ruda, Managing Director, TALL Group of Companies. "We have seized the opportunity to share this achievement with our Guest of Honour, our customers, partners, TALL Security Print employees and dignitaries from the local Halton Borough - which has been our home since 1991."
TALL Security Print was founded in 1991, by Directors Brian Toole, Peter Andrew, Bill Lamb and Phil Long. They are now part of a Group of Companies comprising of TALL Security Print in Runcorn, Checkprint Ltd in Hinckley and DRLT Ltd in Lisburn. Over the past 25 years, TALL Security Print has built an enviable reputation as a market leader providing products to meet changing demand and launching innovative new services to developing marketplaces.

Martin Ruda, said: “It is hard to believe that we are now in our 25th year of business. I would like to thank everyone who came to our event and made it such a fantastic day. I want to thank all our employees for their hard work and commitment over the past 25 years. They are the heart of our business and without them, we would not have reached this milestone event.”

He continued: “A lot has changed in the security print industry in the past 25 years. Technology advances have allowed us to provide our clients with more efficient and cost-effective services. We are constantly innovating and investing in new and exciting products and look forward to what the next 25 years will bring.”

In tribute of the company's history and long-serving employees, the celebration included a speech by the Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire in which he also praised the level of dedication of the staff. Following a reply by Martin Ruda, the Company had great pleasure in presenting a 25yr long service award to Steven Astall, Print Shift Manager, one of the longest serving members of the TALL Security Team.

To further mark the occasion, the TALL Group Directors finally called on Martin Ruda to cut a specially-commissioned celebration cake.  Attendees were then treated to a buffet lunch and tours of the Runcorn site.

The factory tours provided an opportunity to view the half million pound investment in new printing equipment at the Runcorn site, a major highlight leading into TALL Security Print’s anniversary year. The significant outlay has allowed the organisation to enhance and extend its existing product and services portfolio.

As part of this investment programme, TALL Security Print acquired a B3 Xerox Versant digital press to boost its colour printing capabilities across the organisation. An AMS inkjet system also installed enables the company to print variable data at high speeds, including in-line numbering, barcodes and addresses.

In addition, TALL Security Print replaced its existing form cutting equipment with two continuous guillotines from Spedo. The new machines have increased reliability and quality when it comes to processing materials. Finally, the company also took delivery of a replacement Imer continuous five-colour litho press with a rewind function and UV drying: the press being purpose-built specifically for the company in Spain.
The new equipment installed across the business has increased productivity and efficiency, which has result in substantial time and cost savings. By strengthening its portfolio of services, especially with the introduction of the digital press from Xerox, TALL Security Print is also opening itself up to new marketplaces, both here in the UK and internationally. It has supplied millions of secure documents, such as ballot papers, certificates and banking documents worldwide over the last quarter of a century.

“Here at TALL Security Print, we have always put the needs of our customers at the heart of everything that we do”, commented Peter Andrew, Group Sales and Marketing Director for TALL, and one of the four founding directors. “With clients both here in the UK and throughout the world, we have created a dedicated team of individuals over the last 25 years who are passionate about print and ensuring that those customers’ needs are met. This level of dedication means that TALL Security Print, as part of the TALL Group, not only supports UK banks, financial institutions and corporates, but also regularly successfully exports to over 20 countries, with products ranging from cheques to vouchers and from certificates to ballot papers for elections around the world. Remembering our first days as TALL Security Print, we could only have dreamt of current offerings and the exotic place names that we now deliver to.”
