William Tracey Group Recognised in North East Awards
Since the William Tracey Group arrived in the North East in April 2010 the company has continuously strived for excellence in customer service and environmental performance, helping customers, suppliers and stakeholders achieve their environmental objectives.
This focus has resulted in the Gateshead Hazardous Waste & Industrial Cleaning Depot being shortlisted in the Tyneside & Northumberland heat of the NE Business Awards 2010/11. The William Tracey Group has been named as one of three contenders shortlisted for the 'Services Award' category. The award application required entrants to demonstrate how they supply outstanding services to the area and the Gateshead site was able to show investments made to the site over the past year which in turn have improved the service offering for environmental services in the North East. The winner of this heat will be announced at a gala dinner on March 17th 2011 and the successful entrant will be put forward for the North East Regional Finals held in April.
With 2010/2011 being the William Tracey Group's first year in the North East, employees across the Group are delighted to be shortlisted within one of the most prestigious award events in the region.
Michael Tracey, Managing Director commented "It's great to be shortlisted for the NE Business Awards. We must convey our thanks to all the customers who have been involved, and to all the Gateshead employees who constantly deliver excellent customer service while holding the environment at the forefront of all business activities. We would also like to congratulate our fellow contestants who have been shortlisted, there's some tough competition so we'll all have our fingers crossed on the night!".
The initiatives and improvements at Gateshead include reducing the amount of raw materials used by using hazardous wastes to treat other wastes, the installation of a new filter press that is more energy efficient and changes to logistical management to maximise the number of collections of waste that is legally and safely possible in one trip. The Gateshead Depot also works to Scottish Government targets of Zero Waste to landfill, in line with the rest of the Group.
