We are glad to be the Knowledge Partner and Media Partner for the Agra Middle East Exhibition 2025, taking place October 6–7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. CMI will also be represented by its CEO and Founder, Raj Shah, who is scheduled to speak on the topic “Future Foods Outlook: What Will Nourish the Middle East in 2050?” during the event.
“By 2050, the Middle East’s food systems will be driven by resilient crops, alternative proteins, and sustainable resource management to meet the nutritional needs of its rapidly growing population,” said Raj Shah. “Collaboration between policymakers, innovators, and industry leaders will be essential in redefining nourishment for future generations across the region.”
Raj Shah will share the stage with other distinguished speakers, including:
Dr. Ahmad Mukhtar, Senior Economist & Head of Strategy and Policy at Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
Tarifa Alzaabi, Director General at International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA)
Dr. Fatima Al Hamedi, Senior Research Specialist – Conformity Programs & Research Department at Abu Dhabi Quality & Conformity Council
Wasseem Emam, Founder, Director & Head of Research at Ethical Seafood Research
“As Knowledge Partner, CMI is spotlighting the latest technologies and solutions that are transforming the agriculture and aquaculture landscape in the UAE and wider Middle East region,” said Raj Shah, CEO and Founder, Coherent Market Insights. “Advances in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), biofloc technology, aquaponics, and digital tools like GPS and data analytics are enabling farmers to optimize resources, mitigate climate risks, and adopt sustainable practices. These innovations not only enhance productivity but also align with growing consumer demand for organic and sustainably produced food.”
CMI will share highlights from its UAE Agriculture Market report at the event, including:
• Expansion of large-scale projects such as Dubai’s Food Tech Valley, which partners with international consortia to develop gigafarms capable of recycling over 50,000 tons of food waste and growing two billion plants annually.
• The Abu Dhabi Investment Office is fueling agritech growth with USD 272 million in investments, including USD 100 million backing innovators such as AeroFarms, Madar Farms, RNZ, and Responsive Drip Irrigation.
• Advances in biotechnology, such as Abu Dhabi’s Agricultural Genome Program, which focuses on enhancing sustainable agricultural production by improving crop varieties and animal breeds through genetic research, thereby strengthening food security and economic growth.
Additional themes addressed will include climatic risk mitigation strategies such as investments in water-efficient irrigation, the development of drought-resistant crop varieties, and the adoption of protected agriculture practices like vertical farms and greenhouses. The discussions will also highlight the rising seafood demand in the UAE, driven by shifting dietary preferences, increasing disposable incomes, and greater awareness of the health benefits of seafood.
This partnership between CMI and Agra Middle East not only strengthens the platform for advancing agritech and food security solutions but also amplifies both organisations’ shared vision of building resilient and sustainable food systems for the future.
