The agreement will see Lanner provide its WITNESS predictive simulation platform and experienced support for R&D activities across the MTC membership community. Through its role in the UK High Value Manufacturing Catapult - supported by the Technology Strategy Board, the MTC supports growth of the manufacturing sector by helping organisations to incubate and develop new technologies to commercial reality.

Representing one of the largest UK public sector investments in manufacturing for many years and is housed in a 12,000 square metre purpose built facility at Ansty Park, Coventry, the MTC membership includes some of the UK’s major global manufacturers and was founded by the universities of Birmingham, Nottingham, Loughborough, and TWI Ltd. Lanner's active support of MTC research programmes will place WITNESS and Lanner at the centre of cutting edge advanced manufacturing initiatives and activities.

Lanner will also be able to take advantage of the excellent facilities within the MTC which has been confirmed as the venue for the 2014 WITNESS User Conference. Clive Hickman, Chief Executive at the MTC said, “This partnership will provide significant scope for Lanner and MTC to investigate opportunities to apply WITNESS in innovative and productive ways, driving efficiency in UK manufacturing and delivering a competitive edge.

We will begin using Lanner's WITNESS simulation software for both core and membership research activities in early 2014." “Many of our key customers are active members of the MTC and it was a natural choice for Lanner to be MTC's simulation partner,” comments David Jones, CEO, Lanner. “The manufacturing sector has always led innovative process management thinking and many leaders in the industry would not dream of making a strategic change or planning decision without predictive simulation. With modern cloud environments and powerful virtual reality engines, it has never been a more opportune for manufacturers, such as MTC's members, to embrace the foresight delivered from using this technology.
