Everton Football Club's HR team unveils HR technology journey

The seminar theatre at the CIPD’s HR Software Show was bursting at the seams last week, when Human Resources professionals gathered to listen to the highly anticipated presentation – ‘Everton Football Club’s journey to becoming an HR dream team’.

The Premier League club’s HR manager Clare Archibald and HR Officer Rachael Jones spoke openly about Everton’s approach to personnel management, before the introduction of Human Resources software. Delegates were then invited to follow the organisation’s transition from using restrictive Excel spreadsheets, to embracing the latest technological functionality, supplied by Cascade.

Commenting on the positive commentary delivered by this world-renowned business, Cascade’s client services director Heather Vitty said: “By highlighting the software selection and installation process the club went through – plus their approach to tackling recruitment, auto enrolment and the roll out of self service – Clare and Rachael empowered attendees to better manage their own HR software investment or upgrade.

“And, by describing their innovative use of our HR technology, the presentation was also a fantastic endorsement for Cascade, at one of the most important trade shows of the year. It was a very proud moment indeed, for our hard-working team.”

The success of the seminar meant that an even greater number of delegates flocked to Cascade’s popular exhibition stand. But with more demo pods than ever before, plus the Cascade cloud zone – new for 2014 – a 26-strong team of software experts was on hand to talk through every question, large or small.

Cascade’s marketing campaign manager Lorna Wishart elaborated: “We are long-standing exhibitors at the HR Software Show. But year upon year, our stand is slightly different to ensure delegates continue to be engaged and always leave the event having learned something new.

“For 2014, our focus was the importance of flexibility in HR technology – we don’t believe in offering a ‘one size fits all’ solution, like some vendors do. That’s why we showcased both our traditional installed system and our increasingly popular cloud solution, which has represented 53% of our orders from the last 12 months. We also demonstrated the new cross-browser compatibility of our software, which will prove especially important for organisations using different devices including Apple Macs and tablets.

“Once again, we are delighted to say that the response from prospective new clients was very positive indeed. We now look forward to speaking to these HR professionals in more detail, to find out exactly how we can revolutionise their HR department, drive efficiencies and improve their bottom line.”
