The Cordant Group Acquires UKFM

Cordant Services, which provides cleaning, security, technical projects and specialist cleaning services, has acquired part of UKFM Group. The acquisition will see the transfer of two specialist air conditioning businesses Thermotech Engineering Services and G8 Environmental Solutions, to Cordant Services to further support its Technical Projects Division and enhance its HVAC engineering capacity.

This will enable Cordant Services to self deliver technical project services via its Cordant Technical division. Around 60 staff will be moving to Cordant Services via TUPE, and the existing management team across the two businesses will remain, with Managing Director Darren Abernethy tasked with delivering a long term growth plan. The continuity of management will help to ensure a smooth transition and existing UKFM contracts will be unaffected by the acquisition. However Cordant Services will be able to offer current UKFM customers further options to benefit from its wide portfolio of services.

The two companies will retain the UKFM identity for a short period but will then be integrated into Cordant Technical. Service standards for existing and future UKFM customers will be improved as a result of Cordant Service’s focus on open book accounting and investment in innovative technology, for example data transfer from engineers’ mobile handsets.
