Leading facilities and energy management company GSH Group has made a significant investment in its IT systems, to ensure the continuing effectiveness of mobile engineering teams. The company’s new ‘engineer productivity portal’ will provide full performance data on its mobile engineers, which will help maintain a high level of customer service.

The portal has been created to identify training needs in the company’s National Resource Management mobile engineering workforce, while also pinpointing examples of excellence. Developed in-house, it will feed back live performance data from GSH mobile engineers’ hand-held technology for analysis at the company’s head office. Data will include attendance, adherence to service level agreements (SLA) and compliance information, and will cover all aspects of the working day.

In addition to monitoring individual performance, the portal will offer comprehensive analysis of total productivity across contracts/regions. This feature not only enables GSH to maximise productivity, it will also help to ensure best practice is being demonstrated across a whole team.

Glenn Preston, Operations Director at GSH, commented: “Mobile teams are traditionally one of the most difficult aspects to monitor due to their widespread and flexible nature. We have developed the productivity portal as part of our approach to investing in technology in order to monitor, record and improve performance at the front line, where it really counts. We will be using the data carefully going forward, to highlight excellence as well as any areas of concern.”
