Carlo Gavazzi's Dupline Environmental Sensors get the Green Light

New bus powered CO2, temperature and humidity sensors available with or without display or traffic light indication.
Published 09 December 2013

Aldershot, UK, 9th December 2013 – Carlo Gavazzi has launched a range of bus powered CO2, temperature and humidity sensors for the Dupline® system which provide significant wiring advantages in HVAC applications, producing considerable savings on both installation cost and commissioning time.

The Dupline® wall mounted sensors are offered in different combinations of CO2, temperature and humidity to suit the application requirements. Sensors are available with or without display, and the with the CO2 version there is a choice between LCD or traffic light indication.

Touching the front of the LCD model cycles through the display options and activates the subtle back light, the display reverts back to a home screen and the backlight goes off after a programmable time period. The traffic light version clearly indicates the CO2 level with a tri-colour LED by showing green, amber or red, the transition thresholds are programmable from the Dupline® controller. The CO2 sensor has a measuring range of 0-2000ppm and utilises dual source infrared NDIR technology, temperature sensors measure -20 to 50°C whilst the humidity sensor measures 0-100 %RH.

By using the Dupline® 2 wire bus system, field level wiring is simplified and offers an alternative solution compared to traditional hard wiring. The Dupline® bus cable provides communication and power between each sensor, and still allows free topology of the wiring. Using this method the requirement for sub panels / out stations / local power supplies is removed, drastically reducing the cost of installation.

Further savings can be made by adding other Dupline® I/O modules to the same bus – for example under floor heating / natural ventilation. The monitoring of air quality has many benefits when used in applications such as academic and commercial buildings, retail outlets, restaurants, bars and cinemas; such as a more comfortable and healthy environment. Humidity sensors are popular where buildings contents are particularly vulnerable to damp and condensation such as libraries, stately homes and archives, whilst temperature sensors are used to regulate the environment ensuring comfortable conditions are always suitably met whilst energy efficiency targets can be realized.
