Just had a Non Fault accident: does your Insurer supply a Courtesy Car?
a non fault accident -all at no cost!
Published 19 December 2020
You would expect so; but you will be surprised as to the restrictions and added costs involved.
Firstly see what EasiGo Accident Management offers to anyone, regardless of their insurance cover who has just had a non fault accident -all at no cost!
If the accident was not your fault, EasiGo Accident Management Company, which has been registered as a Claims Management Company for over ten years, will provide the following;
-A similar-sized car, whatever type of policy you have.
-Alike for like car, if yours is 5 years old or younger.
-The option of choosing Main Agent, or your own repairer.
-A courtesy car supplied until yours is repaired, or until you have been paid out, in the case of a total loss.
In contrast, most of the top 10 insurers will only supply a Class A, small saloon, unless you have paid an Option Extra. Most of them will only supply a courtesy car, if you are Fully Comp insured.
Only one of them offer a courtesy car as standard, if your car is beyond economic repair. Some offer this as an extra (eg payable) option.
We have gone through the T&Cs of the Top 10 motor insurers- between them they account for 85% of all car insurance policies sold in the UK.
The largest, Admiral only comprehensive car insurance policies include a courtesy car as standard. Even then, only as long as your car's repairable and is repaired at their approved garages.
Axa, the second largest, covers both fully Comp & third party insured, but only a small, three door 1 litre manual car. This again is only provided if you use their approved repairer.
All of the largest insurers require you to use their own Approved Repairer Network- not main agents; and all either do not provide a courtesy car in the event yours is a write off, or limit it to a maximum of 21 days.
Conclusion:
No insurer can match the service provided by EasiGo Accident Management-even if you pay an extra cost for additional non fault accident courtesy car cover.
Nearly all require you to use their own repairer network; not very good for the resale value, if your car is prestige or on lease hire.
