Steam Plant Engineering, the specialist provider of industrial boiler servicing and repairs, pipework, fabrication and valve services, has teamed up with DMF Projects to optimise the available space at a new production and warehouse facility.

The DMF Projects solution includes the installation of a mezzanine floor at the Steam Plant Engineering site in the West Midlands that will create a dedicated storage area for industrial spare parts and equipment increasing available floor space by around 10 per cent.

The new 7,500 sq ft site at Victoria Works, Halesowen will replace an existing facility that no longer meets the business and operational needs of Steam Plant Engineering. The mezzanine storage area will be used to support the company's valve refurbishment operation and fabrication shop.

DMF Projects was able to complete the project on budget from order to installation in just four weeks. This supported Steam Plant Engineering's tight transfer schedule that was designed to minimise any disruption to the business and avoid operational downtime.

Emma Newcombe, the Project Manager for Steam Plant Engineering, commented: "We have outgrown our previous storage and production site, so we not only needed a new facility that would meet our current needs but would provide capacity to handle future growth. We have worked closely with DMF Projects to maximise available space whilst keeping our operational overheads to a minimum."

Derek Scott, Sales Director at DMF Projects said: "Our partnership approach enables us to offer custom designed solutions that improve space optimisation and operational effectiveness of our clients' premises. Steam Plant Engineering is a growing business and needed to increase their operational footprint in a flexible and cost effective manner to match their plans moving forward."
