Ergonomic SCADA solutions for safe railway and tunnel infrastructures
Automation software specialist, COPA-DATA, will exhibit at this year’s International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans) in Berlin. COPA-DATA will showcase solutions for reliable monitoring and ergonomic control of substations and tunnel infrastructures, as well as efficient energy and media supply. Between September 23 and 26, COPA-DATA experts will be present on Booth 302 in Hall 6.2 at the Messe Berlin.
At this year’s InnoTrans, visitors can view a demo project detailing the advantages of COPA-DATA's zenon SCADA software, as well as the IEC 61131-3 based, platform-independent straton PLC system. The key benefits of COPA-DATA’s software systems include unrestricted communication and redundancy, which are crucial for implementing reliable and secure railway and infrastructure projects.
The demo explains how zenon SCADA software is optimally suited for power station and substation automation, grid control systems, railroad traffic systems and tunnel automation. The drivers developed by COPA-DATA guarantee adherence to international standards, such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870, DNP3 and Modbus. Furthermore, thanks to the seamless integration of straton, zenon becomes a comprehensive solution for railway traffic systems and tunnel automation.
zenon takes on the role of a control system and makes it possible to monitor and manage railway and tunnel systems in a modern way. It can portray the traffic management systems and guarantee energy and media supply, including electricity supply, ventilation or CO2 measurement. Other highlights include comprehensive topology functions, secure command input and flexible, effective alarm management.
"With zenon and straton, operators of infrastructure can set up an integrated control solution for smart traffic systems, create a flexible network structure for energy supply and operate the traffic infrastructure safely and ergonomically," explains Jürgen Resch, Industry Manager for Energy and Infrastructure at COPA-DATA.
COPA-DATA understands that safety is the highest priority for the railway and tunnel technology operators, which is why its software is developed in accordance with Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) requirements. COPA-DATA has the corresponding expertise to set up SIL 2-compliant processes and SIL 2-compliant systems. It can also support its customers in achieving SIL certification of equipment.
InnoTrans is an international event for buyers and sellers of passenger and freight transport technology. In 2012, the major international industry showplace attracted over 2,500 exhibitors from 49 countries. Features include rail vehicles, railway infrastructure, interiors - including travel catering and comfort services - public transport and tunnel construction.
