Fenestration specialist Total Glass has supplied and installed high-quality aluminium façade, window and door products at a new £6 million state-of-the-art school in Liverpool for children with special needs.

Millstead School is part of the Liverpool School Investment Programme in which Mayor Joe Anderson has pledged to deliver 12 new schools to the city. Opened last year, the new school in Everton caters for up to 105 pupils.

Working with main contractor Wilmott Dixon, Total Glass provided a complete design, manufacture and install service for the project, which features the Sapa Elegance 52 ST curtain walling system, ST Commercial Doors and Sapa Dualframe 75mm Si windows finished in an RAL 1019 powder-coated finish.

A spider crane was used to lift large glazing panels measuring 2,250mm x 2,2250mm into place around the school’s hydrotherapy pool.

Stuart Holt, Total Glass Commercial Aluminium Manager commented: “Utilising advanced polyamide thermal break technology, the Sapa Elegance system is a top choice for educational applications, supplying the necessary functionality and high thermal performance with the added benefits of offering large glazed spans and slim sightlines.”
