ROCKFON Tropic is perfect for a busy office environment. It offers the highest Class A sound absorption to reduce reverberation and an outstanding fire safety rating, A1. ROCKFON Tropic is a robust ceiling tile which is easy to clean with a vacuum. It is available in a range of sizes and installation options including semi-concealed and visible grid tiles giving architects the freedom to plan offices that can be configured to any design.

“Our open plan office suffered from reverberation. We decided to opt for a highly sound absorbent ceiling with the necessary fire safety criteria. I like Tropic. It is a modern white ceiling which enhances our office interior. It was easy to install which meant the work could be carried out In just one evening once the grid was installed, with little disruption to our business.” Explains Daniel Broyd, Sales and Marketing Director for Festool UK & Ireland.

The ceilings were installed using Chicago Metallic® T24 Click 2890 grid. Matt Giles, Managing Director at MDG UK Limited installed the new ceiling and was particularly impressed with how simple it was to work with: “ROCKFON’s Chicago Metallic grid is excellent quality and much easier and quicker to fit than other brands on the market. It’s easy to ‘stab’ together from a distance too which saved us time on site”

Chicago Metallic grid is manufactured from galvanised steel making it strong and stable. It is fast and accurate to install thanks to a helpful audible ‘click’ which sounds when the runners are in position.  It can be demounted and remounted time and time again without damage to the grid or ceiling tiles. It is designed to create either concealed, semi-concealed or fully exposed high performance ceilings suitable for every application. All the components are easy to cut, reducing waste and saving time and money.

Festool is a great supporter of sustainable practices and chose to upcycle their superseded wet felt ceiling tiles to reduce waste to landfill. They arranged for ROCKFON to collect and upcycle their waste into new ceiling tiles. ROCKFON runs one of the industry’s leading upcycling programmes, processing waste into new products which are of exactly the same quality as those made from new materials.

To make it easy to document the impact of using various ROCKFON products in relation to certification schemes or building projects with particular demands such as BREEAM or LEED, ROCKFON have published Product Sustainability declarations for their most popular products.

In order to communicate the environmental profile of ROCKFON products, the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have been simplified. You can find two new EPDs online: one for their high-density products and a second for their low-density products.
