Rendering enquiries rocket at Fraser Projects

It is a commonly adopted solution for businesses – and home owners – looking to improve the appearance of their property. But why is rendering proving so popular at the moment?

Leeds-based building refurbishment specialist Fraser Projects has been inundated with commercial rendering enquiries in recent weeks. Businesses large and small, from throughout the Leeds and West Yorkshire region and beyond, all seem to understand that now is the perfect time to consider a rendering project. But what makes such works so timely?

Fraser Projects’ managing director Ryan Fraser explains: “We can offer clients a wide variety of rendering solutions, in multiple colours and with different finishes, to suit specific requirements.

“Our options include traditional sand and cement renders, textured or fine grit products, and even maintenance free alternatives. An increasing number of businesses, and domestic customers, are realising the extent to which a professional render can transform the look of a building.

“However, to be able to deliver a rendering job with a 25 year guarantee, we need to ensure a perfect application. So, as we enter what will hopefully prove to be the driest months of the year, when obstacles like the weather are less likely to get in the way, we have the greatest chance of achieving perfection.”

But that’s not all. As businesses face growing pressures to improve their commitment to the environment, an increasing number of organisations are turning to EWI render systems to help improve their energy efficiency. EWI – or External Wall Insulation – involves the application of insulation boards, a mesh reinforcement, base coat and final decorative render, to the outside of the building. This of course has aesthetic benefits but more importantly this layered approach helps prevent unnecessary heat from escaping from the building.

Ryan continues: “More and more organisations are being encouraged to consider the thermal performance of their buildings, in a bid to reduce the strain being imposed on the world’s resources. So, whilst new properties often find themselves in the energy efficiency spotlight, there is no reason companies cannot take steps to better insulate their existing buildings too. Not only will they stand a better chance of upholding their Corporate Social Responsibility – they should see their energy bills fall as well.”

Fraser Projects has just applied the finishing touches to a supermarket chain rendering project in Manchester.
