The project sees ISG undertake a complete strip out of the building’s ground and lower ground floors to shell and core. The accommodation will then be extensively remodelled and reconfigured to create contemporary teaching space and a new student union, as well as a re-designed reception area and back of house facilities. Major structural alterations include the demolition of internal masonry walls to open out the existing space, with the work carried out while the building’s upper floors remain in occupation.

Alan McCarthy-Wyper, managing director of ISG’s Construction business, commented: “I’m delighted to announce this key framework win as part of City University London’s ambitious development plans. Securing the largest value project currently procured via the framework is an excellent result and leaves us well-placed to play a prominent role as the University undertakes a comprehensive review of its property assets and future requirements.”
