The contractor will refurbish 39 suites and deliver additional guest accommodation by creating four bedrooms from the Executive Lounge on the hotel’s seventh floor, which has now moved to the ground floor. The project sees ISG carefully strip out each suite and comprehensively upgrade facilities to create stylish new accommodation for the hotel’s discerning guests. Rooms will be reconfigured to optimise the internal layout, with ISG installing luxury bathroom suites, bespoke furniture, high-end fixtures and fittings and sumptuous decorative finishes.

Mechanical and electrical services will also be upgraded, with the programme phased to enable the hotel to remain operational throughout the duration of the project. ISG has worked closely with the hotel operator to develop a tailored and flexible schedule of works to deliver this important project, with highly-restricted working hours to minimise potential impact on guests and staff.

Peter Kilby, divisional managing director for ISG’s Hotels and Hospitality division, commented: “Managing a complex project in a live luxury hotel environment takes specialist expertise. The skill is balancing the commercial considerations of the hotel with the requirement to deliver a significant programme of modernisation with minimal impact on operations.

“Our approach deploys the significant capabilities of a highly-experienced and dedicated delivery team, with robust and intelligent early-stage planning and effective communication throughout the process to ensure a successful outcome for one of London’s landmark luxury hotels.”
