The hotel will be constructed at the north end of the new three hall exhibition venue, both of which are located at ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena. Operated under an upscale hotel brand, the new 200 plus room hotel comprises six-floors of high specification guest accommodation and a guest gym, with ground floor reception, bar and restaurant with meeting space located at first floor level.

ISG will construct the hotel and Exhibition Centre Liverpool facilities concurrently, with both buildings set to open for business in 2015. Architects Denton Corker Marshall have created a striking off-set, rectangular ‘tube’ design for the new concrete frame hotel, which will feature extensive glazing and a spacious double height atrium at its lower levels.

The steel frame Exhibition Centre Liverpool building will more than double the amount of exhibition space at ACC Liverpool to 15,225 sq m and features a public atrium, food and beverage outlets, meeting rooms and a business centre. The three equally sized halls will be divided by moveable walls, with the centre capable of hosting major international exhibitions, conventions, concerts and sporting events.

Alan McCarthy-Wyper, managing director of ISG’s Construction business, commented: “The ambition and vision for this important regional development have proved inspirational for every project stakeholder and we have worked collaboratively to translate these expectations into a compelling and cost effective delivery solution. Our appointment to both elements of the scheme reinforces ISG’s commitment to Merseyside and underlines our excellent delivery credentials across projects of all sizes and values.

“One of the most important aspects of this major construction scheme is ISG’s ability to boost the local economy and provide a long-lasting skills and training legacy within the local community. Working with a host of delivery partners, we are actively looking to engage with the region’s very best suppliers and construction specialists, as well as providing a range of apprentice and training opportunities for individuals interesting in forging a career within the industry.”
