Armstrong Ceilings gets in the zone

Armstrong Ceilings has launched an Inspiration Zone on its website.
Published 06 January 2011

Armstrong Ceilings' interactive Book of Ideas has helped to inspire architects and designers since it was launched seven years ago.

Now the 13th edition has been relaunched in the UK manufacturer's 150th anniversary year as an online "Inspiration Zone" that showcases projects in the education, healthcare, office, transport, leisure and retail sectors throughout Europe.

The zone http://www.armstrong-ceilings.co.uk/commclgeu/eu1/uk/gb/book_of_ideas.html?cid=email_ABPEUCOM_BOI_December2010 details how Armstrong Ceilings impacted on UK projects including St Bede's secondary school in Lytham St Annes where Orcal metal canopies helped to improve acoustics in a café with plenum constraints, the Splash swimming pool in Stockton on Tees where Infusions polycarbonate canopies and Ultima mineral and Orcal metal tiles enliven the leisure space, the Pizza Express restaurant in Richmond where reverberant sound has been reduced by printed and circular Optima mineral canopies, and Mile End tube station in London where metal Fastrack micro perforated planks help to conceal cables and service facilities.

The Inspiration Zone also features projects using Armstrong's wall solutions and wood ceilings and links to the company's acoustical mini-website, environmental commitment, case study showpiece A Book and interactive project gallery.

Previous Armstrong Books of Ideas have focussed on monolithic and innovative solutions, environmentally-friendly options, acoustics, well-being in the workplace and the company's extensive range of canopy systems.
