The CEO of Cordant Group will be lacing up his walking boots and trekking 134 miles in just four days as he takes ‘steps’ to end youth homelessness. Chris Kenneally will be walking to work from Monmouth in South Wales to Westminster in a bid to raise funds for the Pledge150 campaign, organised by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Chris’ long journey will get underway on November 12 when he leaves home and walks to Malmesbury. After three long days on the road, Chris will depart Maidenhead on the morning of the 15 November as he embarks on the final leg of his journey to Westminster.

This year over 80,000 young people in the UK will be homeless. Through its partnership with LandAid, the property industry charity, RIC’s Pledge150 campaign will deliver 150 bed spaces to young people in need across the UK. Chris will be supported by a number of colleagues in his bid to raise £15,000, who will be organising their own fundraising initiatives to celebrate LandAid Day next month.

Ahead of his trek, Chris said: “With investment in the right support services and secure accommodation, we can protect our young people from facing life in overcrowded hostels, moving from sofa to sofa or even living on the streets. I am looking forward to the four-day challenge, which I’m sure will be exhausting and rewarding in equal measure. I’m slightly worried about the boredom, but apart from that I can’t wait to set off.”
