Founded in 2008, the Manchester headquartered organisation has grown to become a renowned supplier of call intelligence software, with clients including Virgin Money, Neilson holidays and Mercedes Benz.

But with an ambitious product roadmap, plus plans to build out the platform for both the marketer and contact centre in call-centric enterprises, ResponseTap has big objectives for the coming months.

Paul Cleghorn has therefore been appointed to head up the 15-strong development team. With more than 22 years' experience working for brands including Nissan, Rolls Royce and Atmos International, he will now lead the ongoing evolution of ResponseTap's marketing technology, whilst doubling the size of his department over the next 12 months.

Outlining the background to Paul's appointment, CTO Richard Hamnett said: "Following six months of beta iterations, we launched Insight Hub - the industry's most agile reporting platform - back in late 2016. We also announced new 'Go' pipelines to allow our developers to deploy product changes in minutes, and the release of our Integrations Centre came shortly after, to better facilitate a single customer and campaign view.

"Like many of the leading SaaS companies in the marketing space, we will continue to introduce new platform capabilities on a monthly basis, which is why we need the best talent and leadership in our team."

Paul is armed with a wealth of experience that spans strategic product design and development, lean and agile methodologies, plus quality control.

Earlier this year ResponseTap announced the move to a fluid DevOps culture, which attracted Paul to the role. "I was particularly impressed that this is a fast-paced company which has maintained its start-up ethos, but already has a solid product on which to build," he commented.

"The development team is empowered to ensure a very fluid delivery of new call intelligence functionality, and I look forward to further improving the efficiencies and effectiveness of the department as we advance along the product roadmap. For me, it's about making smarter decisions regarding what to develop and when – that way, we can give marketers and contact centres even savvier tools to do better business."

Previously, Paul has also managed multi-site development teams in various international locations – a crucial skill-set given ResponseTap's expansion in North America is rapidly progressing.

The company now has more than 2,200 worldwide clients in total. It continues to be run by its two founders Richard Hamnett and Ross Fobian, with investment from Eden Ventures, Beringea and Enterprise Ventures.
