The hot tub industry is growing by thousands of new hot tubs every year. One of the UK's leading supplier of hot tub parts, is Hot Tub DIY. Director, Jon Pennington gave us the low-down on how the internet has shaped the hot tub parts industry. Jon also explains below, how complex it can be to find the right part, and how hot tub users can now search not just for the part, but alsofor good customer service and experienced engineers made available via the internet.

All hot tubs are similar in many ways but although they share similar parts they can be very complex, and its only experience that can enable a normal hot tub user with no internal knowledge to get the right part to repair or service them.

Jon said “Some parts are simply hard to find even with the internet and then find someone who can give a little bit of knowledge or confidence to ensure it’s the right part and then how to fit that part, this is where we come in, we have thousands of happy customers who contact us every month, we help them save hundreds of pounds both from miss diagnosed repairs and expensive engineer callouts.

Sometimes the questions we get asked are basic and we refer the customer who just want a little advice to a YouTube video or similar to guide them through the process, a good example of this is ‘how to do hot tub chemicals’, we have blogs and online guides for most other processes and then there are the more complex question on a parts that need replacing, maybe the part had burnt-out and was unreadable or simply it didn’t exist when the tub was purchased.

Our customers are great as well as phone calls and emails, text images, chat online, us what’s app, and we even video skype direct to people’s gardens to help fix the tubs, the internet has enabled customer service to go to a whole new level in our industry”.

Jon elaborated "It’s also good to point out at this time that as the internet gets more competitive the prices and costs of selling online are getting smaller and more competitive, a good example of this is eBay where you can buy the same part from many suppliers but for different prices, and different customer service levels.

How to find out which websites give the best customer experience? Answer Look for trust signals in the form of comments and reviews, before you call or email the company have a look for their reviews on review sites like Google places or Trust Pilot, these are places that customers can write a review that cannot be deleted or adjusted by the companies being written about."

Thank you Jon Pennington for his time and experitise. Visit his company's website for hot tub chemicals, pumps, jets, blowers, filters, heaters and more. Hot Tub DIY offers lots of support in terms of simple fixes, and how to use chemicals correctly.
